Church visit

Date: 6th Dec 2019 @ 4:55pm

We had a lovely visit to St. Oswald's Church yesterday for our year 5 service. It was really peaceful having just one class and the children were very attentive to Reverend Sandi. She followed the service as it would be on a Sunday so we sang, prayed and had a story. The story was about Jesus being a refugee when He and His family had to flee to Egypt to escape King Herod. As usual we all learnt a few new things: the church building has stood there for 469 years, there are quite a few people buried under the floor (!), Jesus was a toddler when the family fled to Egypt rather than a baby and a few other things besides.

We are going to back sometime for a 'Nooks and Crannies' visit and have a really good poke about. With such a long history it's a very interesting building with plenty to see and find out about.

Thanks to Mr. Stockton for accompanying us.

'Stay and Bake' is on Wednesday afternoon next week, please let me know if you or a family member would like to come and take part.
