This week in Reception...

...we have been busy preparing for our trip to Trentham Gardens (check out the photos in our Gallery!).  We have been looking at photos and maps of the estate and we have discussed how we will stay safe.

On Tuesday all of the children were very excited to be joined in lessons by their teddy bears.  We used oil pastels, water colours and poster paint to create wonderful observational drawings of our bears.  Unfortunately, at break time our naughty teddy bears went AWOL!  In order to find them we created lost posters and displayed them around the classroom.  Luckily, we found them enjoying cake in the staff room!

On Wednesday we enjoyed some African dancing with Christine and Darel.  The children were fantastic, though apparently Miss Goff isn't very good!  More practise needed I think!  We will be very sad to say goodbye to Christine and Darel tomorrow but we hope they have enjoyed their time with us.

In Phonics this week we have been looking at the different ways of making 'a' - ay (day), ai (rain) and a_e (gate).
