Reception - Autumn Term Two

Good evening everyone,
Before the children head back to school on Monday, we would like to give them a little insight of the changes in the classroom. Over the holidays, our farm house has changed into Brereton school’s own forest. The pictures below give you a little taste of some of the things that are now part of our classroom. This is still linked very closely with our topics of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, so we will be talking about what animals may be found in the forest and what they will need to survive over the coming winter.
Please refer to our topic web to see all the different things we will be learning about over the next 7 weeks. Our focus texts will be The Stick Man and The Elves and the Shoemaker in Literacy as well as looking at poetry and instructions. In Maths, we will be looking at weight, shape and time as well as numbers to 20.

Friday 7th December – Reception’s Nativity
Wednesday 12th December – Whole School Theatre Trip
Thursday 20th December – Carol Service
The children worked so hard last half term, we just can’t wait to see what is in store on the lead up to Christmas.
