Reception's Blog - Week Beginning Monday 22nd April

Date: 26th Apr 2019 @ 8:29am

Welcome back!

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter Break. It was lovely to see all the children again…they all seem to have grown a lot over the holiday.

On Tuesday we arrived to discover many carrots trapped by tape in the classroom. The situation was peculiar as no one had been into the room during break time or seen anything suspicious. After much deliberation, we discovered that it was the evil pea and we made it our mission to find him – we made posters and traps to try and locate the wicked character.

In Maths, we have been working with our new kagan partner to revise number bonds to 10. We used number beads, play dough and counters to support our learning but hope to move away from using apparatus next week and learn them by heart.

In RE we started our new topic, Discipliship and we have learnt about Jesus’ friends who helped him. We related this to our own life and the different things that occur within our own friendships every day.  In our topic lessons we have been creating characters from the story of ‘Supertato’ using a variety of materials which has been very exciting.

A reminder that on Monday morning the children will be having our class photo taken. It will be similiar to those that you can see in the entrance and there will an opportunity to purchase the photograph.

Have a lovely weekend
