W/b 23rd October

Date: 25th Oct 2017 @ 9:56am

In maths we have now completed our work on place value, addition and subtraction and we are working with inverses and then applying our knowledge to problem solving.

As we completed our English unit of work last week on non-chronological reports linked to Tasmanian kelp forests, we are using our English this week to up-level our research on Victorian working children and write a non-chronological report for our topic books. This writing will also be on display in the classroom.

Last week in science we continued our Science experiments into the properties of materials - I hope you enjoyed the video. This week we are looking at changes to materials caused by heating them. Again there are reversible and irreversible changes to learn about.

The children wrote a piece for an RE assessment this week, entitled 'What is Good News and how did Jesus spread Good News to the people?' It's been an interesting and challenging journey through RE this half term, finding out about the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount.

A reminder that it is non-uniform day on Friday to raise money for The Christie.
