We are now entering the final week before SATs week. The children have worked very hard up to this point and will be glad when it is over. We are completing our maths unit on geometry this week and maths revision will focus on things that we have identified from recent tests: mean average, percentages of quantities, ratio & proportion and Roman numerals. English revision will focus on terminology for grammatical terms. In our recent SPaG test, we came across terminology that the children had forgotten so this needs addressing. In English we have spent lessons last week planning a diary about our week at Pensarn and this week we are writing the first draft. This writing will continue during SATs week; we will be editing, perfecting and writing the second draft.

As you know, writing continues to be a major focus for Year 6 after SATs week as we are likely to be returning to a moderation of writing after the half-term break.

The children will continue to be taught RE by Mrs. Pulle on Tuesday afternoons. They also have PE with the PE coach followed by music with Mrs. Taylor on Friday afternoons.

Attendance in school is vitally important for the children at this time to ensure that they don’t miss any teaching and revision input and to ensure that they feel fully confident going into next week. Thank you for your support.
