Year 1 class blog w/b 5.3.18

Date: 11th Mar 2018 @ 10:11am

We have had a super week in year 1! The children performed fantastically in our class assembly and did incredibly well to learn all of their lines, the story maps and song and then perform them so well. I’m sure you felt very proud of them, as did I.

This week in phonics we have recapped on the ir, ur and er sounds. In English, we innovated our stories, changing ‘How to Catch a Star’ into something different. Some children were catching the sun, others were catching the moon and some were even catching Big Foot!

In Maths, we compared and measured length. In RE we listened to the story where Jesus enters Jerusalem on the donkey (Palm Sunday) and retold the story.

Just to remind you of our Stay and Make on Tuesday and the visit to Spaceport on Thursday. As well as this our Easter church service will be on Friday afternoon. Feel free to walk down with us if you are able to.

Parent consultations will be on Thursday evening and Friday morning. If you haven’t made an appointment and would like one, please contact the office to arrange an appointment or see me. Thank you.
