Year 4 class blog w/b 14.10.19

Date: 20th Oct 2019 @ 12:22pm

We have had a super couple of weeks in school. Thank you for all of your support with homework and the homework challenges- there have been some fantastic pieces of work brought in! These will be displayed this week during parent consultations. Please speak to the office if you haven’t made an appointment.

We have been looking at the prefix inter in spellings most recently. In English we have been writing newspaper reports about Shackleton’s journey as well as a newspaper report about Robert Peary. Last week, we wrote a biography about Shackleton’s life! In the final week before half term, we shall be focussing on poetry.

In Maths over the past few weeks, we have been focussing on addition and subtraction with 4 digits. Some of these have involved exchanges, which make the calculations and problems trickier!

In topic and Science, we have looked at global warming and conducted an experiment related to states of matter that links with this theme.

In PE we have been working on shooting, passing and positioning in netball; in RE we completed our assessments about good news.

I hope you all have a relaxing half term,

Mr McAulay
