Year 4 class blog w/b 3.3.20

Date: 6th Mar 2020 @ 9:07am

We had a super visit to the library for World Book Day this week! Our focus in Maths has been fractions (equivalent fractions and simplifying them), while in English we have been writing for different purposes as part of our new text the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. In PE, our new focus is cricket and we have been doing throwing, catching and different techniques to practise using both hands. In RE, our new focus is salvation so we have been looking at stories in Holy Week. Topic has been very interesting! We have been learning about evacuees, where they came from and where they might have travelled to and from. Mr Spilsbury even let us know about evacuees who came to Brereton and even where the air raid shelter at the school was during the war!

Key dates this week:

York meeting Wednesday 11th 4pm. (I will also talk briefly about the upcoming times tables test.)

Tatton Park trip- Thursday 12th- please come in dressed up, but bring warm clothes and sturdy shoes or boots (some of the farm is cobbled and could be wet). Please bring a packed lunch (unless you have ordered a school one).
