Year 5 Fractions

This week we will be working on fractions. We will begin by converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions.
For example: Three halves = 1 and 1 half, 7 thirds = 2 and 1 third
We will then move on to converting fractions to decimals using division. Please take a look at the attached document if you would like to try this at home.
To help children with this week, it would be useful to revise times tables at home. 7's, 8's and 9's are always tricky.
