Year 5 w/c 18/3/19

Date: 23rd Mar 2019 @ 8:05pm

It was lovely speaking to you all this week and sharing how much progress the children have made.

This week children began their narrative writing based on our book ‘Unspoken’. We will be continuing this work until Easter and the fantastic writing ideas and art work produced so far have been to such a high standard that I’m sure the finished pieces will be amazing.

In maths we will be continuing our work on fractions with multiplying and dividing as well as converting fractions to decimals and percentages.

We have continued our topic of slavery and learnt about the different jobs completed by slaves. We have also been learning about the secret symbols sewn into quilts by people who helped slaves escape. We will be exploring this further next week.

Children have been completing their homework on heroes. This is in preparation for our Summer term topic where we will be exploring what makes a hero and learning about the work of remarkable people past and present.

Next week children will be preparing to lead our Easter service and taking part in a PE lesson with Mr Capewell from HCCS.
