ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential if children are to make good progress at school.
If a child is absent parents must telephone school before 9.30am or send a note of explanation with a sibling. If this is not the case, the school will contact parents.
Parents are asked not to arrange non-emergency, non-urgent medical / dental or other appointments during the school day. If this is unavoidable parents should inform the school in writing.
The Governor’s request that parents do not arrange holidays during term time as this is particularly disruptive to children’s progress. Two weeks absence results in the loss of approximately 44 hours teaching time. Schools cannot legally authorise such holidays unless there are exceptional circumstances.
