Homework
HOMEWORK
Children take part in many out of school activities such as Brownies, Beavers, sports clubs etc. and these should be seen as part of their education and, therefore, homework.
Homework from school is seen as a means of promoting a positive attitude to learning and involving parents more closely in the learning process. It focuses mainly on the basic skills of Literacy and Numeracy with clear links to classwork.
We encourage parents to work with their children on homework tasks to promote discussion, deepen understanding and consolidate learning.
Homework diaries provide a means of communication and should be signed by parents when tasks are completed. The completion of homework should not be a source of stress and parents are encouraged to contact the class teacher if homework cannot be completed for any reason.
Full details about homework tasks are available in our Homework Policy.
