Parental Involvement
Parents are their child’s first and most enduring educators. We are committed to working in partnership with parents and building on the foundations laid at home. Our aim is to develop a mutually supportive relationship between home and school that enables children to grow intellectually, socially and emotionally within the security and stability of that relationship. We therefore ensure that parents are as fully involved and informed as possible about their children’s progress through the following means:
- Parent consultation evenings.
- Starting School meeting and booklet.
- Helping your Child at HomeĀ meeting (for new Reception parents).
- Key Stage SATs meetings (for Y2 and Y6 parents).
- Reading and homework diaries.
- Weekly newsletter.
Parents may contact school at any time for an appointment with their child’s class teacher to discuss any concerns.
PARENT CONSULTATION EVENINGS
Autumn Term
This evening is an opportunity for parents to look at displays of work and resources and have an individual consultation with their child’s teacher.
Spring Term
Parents are invited to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher on one of two evenings. Information about targets that have been set to ensure achievements are shared with parents.
Summer Term
This is an opportunity for parents to look at their children’s work and chat informally with the class teacher. No timed appointments are available, unless requested, as a detailed written report will have previously been sent home.
