Well done on another fabulous week Year 6!

We have been very busy finishing off our final few maths units before our SATs; using a protractor to measure angles and calculating the mean. We haven’t quite finished so we will be continuing with this next week. In English, we have researched and started to plan our next written piece on wolves and will be ready to write our information text on Monday. We have also been looking at some reading papers and have been practicing how to answer questions.

We have enjoyed lots of different lessons in the afternoons this week – writing songs with Mrs Tice, art with Mrs Taylor and Rounders with Mr McAuley. Mrs Tice also showed us how to make presentations in computing and we have been using PowerPoint to share information with the class.

The highlight of our week was the church service for Mrs Pulle on her final day. It was a wonderful morning to celebrate the time she has spent at Brereton and for each class to share their memories. Thank you to all of Year 6 for writing a beautiful prayer and Ethos council for reading this to her in church. We all wish her the very best in her retirement.

Although we have all worked super hard and achieved this week, a big well done to Annie for earning our certificate this week for a fantastic effort in all lessons. Another well done to the boys in the cricket team – Hunter, Freddie, Oscar and Oliver – for showing determination and resilience in the tournament at HCCS.

Like last week, homework was set on Wednesday and due in on Wednesday. Please make sure this is completed or speak to me beforehand if there are any issues.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
