Computing
Intent
We understand and recognise the key part that computing plays in today’s society. Through our teaching of computing we hope to inspire a love of learning and one another and equip children with the knowledge and skills to know how technology can help.
Implementation
Our computing curriculum is divided into main areas which are covered each half term: Digital Literacy, Online Safety, Computational Thinking, Computers and Hardware, Coding and Cross-Curricular application (the final skill is applied throughout the year when children have opportunity to use the computing skills taught to assist them in other areas).
Knowledge and skills progress through each year group and children revise their knowledge and assess their skills using knowledge organisers.
Impact
Children will have the knowledge and skills necessary to use available technology to support their life, learning and communication. They develop a love of computing and are prepared for the next stage of their life.
