Year 3 blog week beginning 18th March (and Ford Green Hall)

Date: 19th Mar 2024 @ 3:33pm

We have had another successful week in Year 3!

In English we have been writing a diary in the role of Starbird and then at the end of the week, we have been planning and writing our very own captive narrative about a creature of our choice! We have now also completed our AR tests which assess reading. In spelling, we are looking at ge, gi, gy and dge words which make the j sound e.g. bridge, magic, energy, gentle.

In Maths we have been doing lots of assessments! As well as this, we have been working on mass, measuring the weight of different objects!

In PE we have been playing matches to consolidate all of our amazing throwing, catching, bowling and batting skills this half term!

In RE we have been finding out all about the last supper and acting this out! We have also been working hard in music on our favourite songs!

In Spanish, we learned how to say se and no se (I know how and I don't know how) and our favourite hobbies!

In Art, we had a go at drawing three sketches; we drew with our right hand, our left hand and even with our eyes closed.

We had a wonderful day visiting Ford Green Hall on Tuesday. We learnt all about Tudor life including how rich and poor people lived and what they ate. We also learnt about the education system in Tudor times, we then practised writing with quill.  It was such fun!

Have a lovely weekend,

The Year 3 team.
