Y5 World Book Day

Hello everyone,

For World Book Day, Year 5 started to think of how to summarise a book in six words (for example: 'Boy wizard, meets friends, defeats evil' is a six-word plot for 'Harry Potter and the Philosphers Stone'). We then discussed the role that comic books play in different formats of text, and that many novels have been turned into comic book stories. With this in mind, the children were then asked to choose a familiar or favourite book and turn it into a six or twelve frame comic strip. 

As you can see from the evidence below, we had a variety of texts and some very interesting plot summaries!
