Year 3 blog w.b. 21st April

Date: 25th Apr 2025 @ 3:33pm

This week we have had a fantastic week in Year 3!

In English this week we looked at some mysterious clues: an old camera, a brush, a trowel and a pick axe, as well as some pictures of a sandy place. We also saw a papyrus with some strange pictures and an unfamilar language. We predicted what our new text 'Egyptology' is about. After this we wrote a setting description in the role of an explorer who was trying to find an ancient tomb in one of the pyramids and we also enjoyed reading a mystery narrative set in Egypt and using dictionaries to find definitions and write sentences with the new vocabulary.

In Maths we compared, adding and subtracted volumes of water, before completing our end of unit check.

In PE this week we enjoyed trying some new shapes- the pike and straddle, as well as jumping and travelling in different ways. We then tried the log, tuck, dish/arch and teddy bear rolls and made sequences with them.

In History, we began our topic about the Romans and what they brought to Britain! We also enjoyed learning about instruments in Spanish before our Music lesson playing our instruments. In Art this week we enjoyed making our knowledge organisers and learning about some very influential artists.

I hope you have had a lovely Easter. Have a wonderful weekend.
